Geb. 9.7.1905 in Fleming/Ont., Kanada, †1984. Studierte an der Uni Alberta und in Oxford (England) Jura. Luftwaffenoffizier im Zweiten Weltkrieg. 155 NHL-Spiele als Schiedsrichter. NHL-Präsident 1946-77. Er organisierte die ersten Spiele der NHL-Profis gegen die UdSSR 1972. 1966 in Hall-of-Fame aufgenommen. Nach ihm wurde die Clarence-Campbell-Conference (mit Patrick bis 1981, mit Norris ab 1981- und Smythe-Division) benannt.
